That amazing email you've sent has finally reached the inboxes, so now it's time to check the numbers! Getting familiar with your email reports can actually help you save time because when you learn how to interpret your results you will make smarter decisions in less time. So, let's start by covering the basic terms you'll encounter while analyzing the reports. Find a sent email campaign in the Email app or Flow and click on the Reports button.
Open your reports
To open your reports for an individual campaign hover over the campaign for which you want to see the reports and click on the reports button.
When you navigate to the reports page at the top you can see:
- the name of the campaign;
- the date the campaign was sent on;
- the segment the campaign was sent to;
- date range drop-down menu where you can select different date ranges like all time, last 24 hours, last 7 days, last 14 days, last 30 days, last 90 days or a custom date range.
Note: The reports button will be visible only after sending your email campaign. 💌
This widget shows the Sent and Not sent data. In the Sent details you can see the number of unique and duplicate contacts to which the email campaign was sent to. Unique means a unique number of email addresses to which the campaign was sent while duplicate means duplicate number of email addresses to which the campaign was sent.
For example, if you have 5 contacts with the same email address the number of unique will be 1 and the number of duplicates 4.
The Not sent details data is divided into Invalid Email (usually email addresses that do not contain @), Email Suppressed (email addresses that have previously hard-bounced) and Previously Unsubscribed (contacts that have unsubscribed before the send-out).
In this widget, you can find the Delivered and Not delivered data. In the Delivered details the contacts to which the email was sent to are divided into Unique and Duplicates, while the Not delivered details include the Soft and Hard bounces.
Note: The number of Duplicates in the Delivery overview shows how many duplicate email addresses have actually received the campaign.
Further below you can see information about the Opens, Clicks, Email unsubscribes (based on Unique opens) as well as Unique and Total performance data of opens and clicks from the selected date range. The Top links widget shows all the links you have used in your campaign so you can see which of them were clicked the most.
For example, if you have used the same link on a button and an image, the Top links widget will show the link only once since it's the same link and the number of clicks will contain both the clicks on the button and the image.
Tip: The human-looking button() in the reports can help you manage your contacts. You can add or remove tags, add to or remove certain contacts from a segment and export them.
