Segmentation is a method of dividing contacts into groups of individuals that are similar in specific ways relevant to marketing, such as age, gender, interests etc.
In Loopify, the segmentation can be done in two ways, using Main segments and Smart Segments.
Access:
- Main segments: Contacts → Segments or Loopify dashboard → Settings → Contact settings.
- Smart segments: Contacts → Smart segments → + New segment
Main Segments
The Main segments in Loopify is a group of three pre-set segment values: Customers, Leads, and Partners. You can rename the three main segment values, delete them or add new ones. You can even add a new segment group that will fit you.
For example, you are a Sports shop and you have different types of customers. Some of them are golf players and others are maybe basketball players. As a Sports shop, you would find it very helpful if your customers were all sorted out by groups so that you can send them relevant and personalized content, right?
So, here is how our Main segments can come to the rescue! Form the Main segments you can add a new segment group let's call it, Sports, and you can add five different values: Golf, Basketball, Tennis, Football, and Handball.
Now, all you need to do is add your customers to the correct segment. And we do have an article to find all the ways to add your contacts to segments.
Smart Segments
The Smart segments in Loopify are here to help you to go further with segmentation. Our main segments are here for general segmentation, but our smart segments are a more specific way of sorting contacts.
For example, find all contacts that are part of the "Golf" segment and have the value "Oslo" in their "City" field. In this case, "Golf" would be the more "general" sorting, while with "Smart segments" the segmentation can go deeper and deeper.
