Why do I get 'Invalid phone number' message when I import contacts?

Problem ❌

When you import contacts using Excel or CSV files, during the mapping process you could get an error message that says that the numbers you're trying to import are invalid.

Cause ❓

This happens because some export tools automatically treat phone numbers as regular numbers. Phone numbers can't be represented as pure numbers because of the characters needed to fulfill the international phone number standards. You'll also notice that the international call prefix (usually it's 00) is deleted.

Solution ✔

• Open your Excel or CSV file.
• Select all your numbers.
• Go to Format and choose to save Numbers as Plain text.
• Insert the international call prefix (usually it's 00) before every phone number with a country code.
• Save your file.
• Re-upload into Loopify.
