Use the elastic timeline in Wait block

The elastic timeline is a neat thing let's all agree on that, shall we? 😎 From now on, no worries communication would be sent to each of your contacts, based on when they arrive at a specific flow block. Time is always on your side at Loopify!⌛

Elastic timeline means it's not a fixed time like the other block settings. Here the time is stretchable, implying that you don't have an exact time; instead, it functions just like a flexible time frame, depending on when the contacts arrive at this block and how much should they wait.

• Elastic timeline settings - choose the time when you want your next communication to be sent after the percentage of the days left to the preferred date.

Easy and useful! Now, let us explain things thoroughly with an example.😊

Example:

Today is 1.4.2019 and you have a dinner event on 20.4.2019. You send an email invitation to your contacts that leads to an open page. After the contacts submit the page with their info, you want them reminded by email approximately 7 days before the event.

You set the elastic timeline after onFormSubmit like this: the time is set to 10:30 after 50% of the days left to 20.04.2019. You then activate your Flow campaign on 01.04.2019.

Contacts can and will submit the form at their convenience, meaning any time-any date, right? Therefore, you cannot use a "fixed" time (like send the email 7 days before the event), because a contact can submit the page on 15.4 and there will be no 7 days left.

• If a contact submits the same date you activated your flow (01.4), then 50% from the time left to 20.4 is 10 days - they will be reminded after 10 days.
• If a contact submits the page on 10.4, they will receive the "reminder" email on 15.4 (50% from 10.4 to 20.4).
• If the contact submits the page on 18.4, they will receive the "reminder" email the next day (50% left to 20.4). Starting to make sense, right?

The percentage will be effective up to two days before the specified date. A contact can also submit on 20.04, and then the "reminder" email will be sent right away since there is no time left to do the 50%. In such scenarios, the percentage is ineffective for hours. If the submit is done beyond the specified hour and date - the communication will be sent right away.

Note: If the percentage is 50% of elastic timeline for 13 days (or any other odd number) then the email will be sent at the 6th day (the lesser one).

Easy! The elastic timeline works like a real elastic, it will expand or shrink according to when the contact submitted the page in this example. 🏃‍♀️
