We all know that variables are important. In Loopify you can add variables in every communication, and the Event Booking app is no different.
But before we start make sure you've read the introduction to the Event Booking app first.
Now, without any further ado let's see where can you use the event booking variables.
Variables in guest setting message
- Open your event and click on an existing guest setting or add one.
- Once the guest setting is open you can see there is a message part, click on it and the menu will show up.
- From the menu click on the variable icon, and a new window will pop up from where you can choose:
- Available seats
- Number of seats
- Taken seats
The variables will be changed in the Event field. For example, if you added the 'Display available seats' setting, and the message is: [Available Seats] from [Number Of Seats] remaining. When the contact chooses a session from the event field, the variable for available seats and the number of seats will be changed based on the chosen session. So the message can be something like '4 from 50 remaining'
Variables in campaigns
Of course in a campaign, you can add different types of variables, but you can also use the Event variables as well.
- Open any campaign (for example, email or pages).
- Click anywhere in the text where you wish to add the variable. Then, select the variable icon.
- From the first drop-down menu choose Insert Event Booking Variable. After each type you'd need to select the relevant event.
- From the second drop-down menu select some of the listed fields:
- Description - the description of the session the user is part of
- Schedule Start - the session's scheduled start. You can select the date format and the month language. While MM and dd are months and days displayed with numbers, MMMM would write the full month name in the specified language.
Custom Format would present a link to discover alternative formats. Such example is a combination of date/time for example dd.MM.yyyy ‘klokken’ HH:mm (if you're a Norwegian client) or dd.MM.yyyy ‘at’ HH:mm which will result in for example 01.01.2024 at 12:00.
In the custom format you can also go wild like dddd which will show the full name of the day in the specified language. Explore the alternative formats link to find out more.
Tip: If you want to add text in your custom format, make sure it's in single brackets like the above 'at' or 'klokken' so that it would appear correctly. - Status - the guest's event status (booked, waiting etc.)
When the contact has already joined an event, the variables will change accordingly for the session that the contact is a part of.
Great! Now go and use those variables proudly! 😎
