Just the type of settings you need for your template.
- Change the name of the template if you feel like it.
- If you switch on the Published toggle button, the template will be automatically published when you Save & Close it. Unpublished templates cannot be used in a campaign.
- Switch on/off the Display text button in campaign toggle. If you switch it off you won't be able to add a new text module in the SMS campaign.
- Allow UCS-2 encoding in Campaign - the toggle decides if the encode selector should be present in the campaign editor. If the toggle is off, then the SMS format can't be changed. If the toggle is on then you can choose the SMS format in the campaign editor as well.
- In the SMS world, there are different types of SMS messages and they include some character limitations. These characters could affect the message type, therefore affect the SMS price.
The SMS message encoding is a method that is converting the data in order to be processed.
Loopify supports both GSM-7 and UCS-2 formats. As you can see in the SMS template editor by default, the SMS is set to GSM7 format, this is just a normal SMS format but it supports a limited set of characters. If you want to use some special characters or emojis switch the toggle on to use the UCS-2 format.
I would suggest reading about the SMS sending coast and encoding, and learn every detail.

Now if you use the GSM-7 format, and you include some 'special characters' in your message, you'll get an exclamation mark next (❗) to your SMS, and a message suggesting to use UCS-2. If you click on the icon you can see which characters are not supported by the GSM-7 format.
